Each event featured a player voting system that would determine the introduction of new gameplay elements in the following week. With the exception of Tuska Comes, each World Event had new developments each week. One example is of course, the World Events. Some of the best content in the game were not all released at once and actually makes sense to be “dripfed”.

The main problem is not timegating/dripfeeding/batching content. Now before I begin, I want to recognize some points that people have been criticizing it for that I actually do not think to be the principal problem. Battle of the Monolith is very disappointing and could have been done much better. Now that the event has officially ended, I would say that my opinion on the event remains largely unchanged. While I was a heavy detractor of it, some people still held hopes that it would become better as the weeks go on. Everything about it just felt so… lacklustre. Needless to say, when the event was released on the first week, many of us was equally disappointed. While some people were not as enthusiastic about World Events as I was, the idea of a lore event taking place in the open world and changing the storyline is just such an exciting idea that many of us had high hopes for. When the Battle was first announced, as part of the RS lore community I was, as many around me were, very excited about the events. Now that the Battle of the Monolith has officially come to an end, I thought I’d give a review of the event.
